So I received my contract yesterday and it has both our wedding and reception time listed on it. We are concerned as we may need to move our reception forward a half an hour. Does anyone know offhand if they'll let you change the reception time once the contract is signed? Thanks!

You can change almost anything after the contact is signed. As you near your wedding date, sometimes, really close, you will receive a final BEO (bill) with everything on it. That is the one that you are agreeing to everything as is for the day. The contract is to reserve the site and agree to the wedding fees in general, but many brides have even changed their venues and been fine.

i shortened my reception without a problem i'm sure it'll be fine, they'll just make you sign an addendum. have you sent the beo back with your changes on it?

We do not have a BEO yet, this is the first contract I would assume? Basically the only 2 details on this one are the Wedding Pavilion and the Reception both with times attached.

You can change the times and even the location (pending availability of course). As other people have posted, it entails signing an amended contract.
