Question regarding characters

My fiance and I have been seriously discussing a Disney wedding and we've been kicking around the idea of having characters if we go ahead with this. Beauty and the Beast is "our" movie, so we'd like to see if we can have Belle and Beast as characters. I know there are stipulations and everything, but can anyone tell me what they are? Also, how much would it cost? I know I saw a price somewhere for regular fur characters, but I haven't seen a new one for face characters. Are there any locations that you cannot have characters at for the reception?

Hello,
If you can get those particular characters, it should be roughly $1425 for the two characters. However, you may be limited to certain venues and/or be required to pay for a particular backdrop or decoration package in order to get them, so you'll want to ask your consultant (or planner, if you have one already) to see if there are any restrictions around those characters.

If you don't have it already, I suggest picking up the Passporter's Disney Weddings and Honeymoons book - it has all this information in it, plus a lot more that you may have questions about (how pricing works, what are all the entertainment options, transportation, etc.). It's really useful for those of us planning on a Disney wedding since it allows us to figure out what we can have and still fit within whatever budget you're planning on. Also, it has some budget sheets in there to help you with estimating what your total cost is likely to end up around.

Forgot to add, you can fine the book here. It comes in both paperback (which isn't updated yet, so I'd hold off on that version) and ebook (which has the most up to date information).

I second that. I recently saw some pictures of a couple who had Beauty & The Beast at the Atlantic Dance Hall. However, they did have a backdrop on the stage. Not sure if the backdrop was required, but you might wanna keep that in mind in regards to pricing.

Excellent, thank you! Do any of you by chance have links to where I can see what sort of backdrop it would be? I told the fiance about that and we're still interested. Would they be required to stay by the backdrop, or would they be able to do what the other characters do, with the cake and dancing? We're too far out to get many answers from a DFTW planner, so I can't ask them directly (and, of course, the current policies may change by the time we finally get our BEO).

I'm sure one of the others will be able to provide a link to the picture with the backdrop, but if it's required, I believe they have to stay in front of it and don't end up being able to walk around and have to stay with it. But someone else may be able to confirm with that - face characters sometimes have rules that I get fuzzy around.
