Question regarding changing flight and MDE

Considering adding a couple of days to the beginning of our trip so would be flying in two days earlier. We leave in just over two weeks, how does this impact our MDE ? Do I just call and reschedule for the new arrival day? And since so close, doubt there is enough time to get new luggage tags? So I guess we would need to claim from baggage claim and take with us?
