Question regarding Castaway Club membership

The ones we got last week are much more silky, soft and pliable than previous ones. ....

Thanks for the update.

We will be sure to feel the new ones offered, prior to offering them to those in need next time.

Not sure what that means :confused3 - but, OK.

"as we are sailors" thin I admit.

This implies we have sailed a few times, and don't pay attention surrounding the lanyard details, that are offered at every sailing. Nor need to be offered lanyard at every sailing.

We have our own lanyards we have used for many sailings.

We have sailed many times with DCL, so at checkin, we don't focus on what lanyard is offered, regardless of CC line, nor CC level, or booking level.

Hope that makes sense. As an explanation.

When we are offered lanyards at checkin, we pay "no attention to the design, composition, color, CC level, etc."

That is what I was referring to. When we are offered lanyard upon checkin we just put them in our bag and move on.

The lanyards offered at checkin are appreciated, but for us are unnecessary. So we give them to others who may appreciate them.

I hope that explains our position.

Hopefully it won't disturb too many. lol

I just clicked on this - the card doesn't specify "silver" or gold or platinum. It's just a membership card (credit card sized).

I had a thought are you talking about the Silver magnet that you should get for reaching silver level? Like this:

Everyone should have gotten one of those.

Yes, I am, only my sister received one for her stateroom. I presume then that we should have received one for ours as well?

Yes, you're talking about the magnet? It's one gift per stateroom, so someone in the second stateroom should have gotten one also.

Here's what the info is about that (from the Castaway Club area):
We value our Castaway Club members. And beginning in February 2014—to show our thanks—you'll receive a small token* of our appreciation when you return home after each cruise.

We commissioned 5 artists to create a series of Castaway Club-exclusive art cards. Collect one after each cruise.* There are 5 cards that you can collect. Each card was designed by a different artist using our Disney ships as inspiration—and showcasing the artist's unique medium and creative vision.

And if you're celebrating a Disney Cruise Line milestone—like your first Disney cruise or your Castaway Club status turning to Gold or Platinum—you'll receive a special car magnet* (in lieu of the art card) to celebrate your milestone and show off your new Castaway Club status.

The designs are a secret for now, so you can look forward to a fun surprise in the mail after your cruise.

*Limited to one gift per stateroom.

But, since everyone has sailed at least once, they are all Silver members. You can contact the Castaway Club through the DCL website, and see if they'll send extra ones, for those at different addresses from your sister.

Thanks for all the information, Princess! I'll have to contact DCL and follow up.

We all got CC cards in a nice folder after our first cruise in 2000. I don't think they send cards anymore however. Once you have sailed, you are in the system and it will know what level you are and how many times you have sailed.

Try just logging in with your Disney account from any other Disney.com website...they have really good cross-site records. DH and I took one DCL cruise, back in 1999, and when I signed in just now using my My Disney Experience login from land trips to WDW my past cruise info, CC number, etc were all there, including DH's CC number as a "managed" account (he doesn't have his own DME or Disney account since I'm the primary planner). So yes, Disney's a little big-brother-ish, but it's handy if you haven't kept track of your trips or CC numbers and such.

If you are 1st time cruisers so won't get a lanyard but we pulled a fast one & popped by the DVC desk & got a nice but itchy/scratchy lanyard
