Hi Everyone,

I have a question for all you AP Vets. DH & I have been AP holders the last 2 years. Unfortunately we aren't going to WDW in 2004 so our passes probably won't get renewed. But we plan to go in 2005.
I have heard many of you talk of getting a voucher for future use. Is this doable in this senario? Can I get a voucher for a renewing rate and then wait to activate the card until the year 2005?

Thanks in Advance,
Lisa

Membership is continuous for AP renewals at the 10% discount.

If you want AP privileges to resume after your current pass expires, you have to pay the full AP price (slightly lower for Disney Club but not AAA members). If you are not at WDW when you pay for your next AP, you get a voucher. To prevent accidental unwanted renewal, wait until the old AP expires before paying for the next one. I am told but not absolutely sure that you can pay for the AP and get the voucher at today's prices and activate the voucher years from now.

You cannot execute your plan with a renewal voucher. The way a renewal works is that your AP will be back dated to the expiration date of the previous one. You cannot keep a renewal voucher you get now and use it in 2005. At one time it was possible, but that loophole was closed in 2000.

You can do it with a voucher for a new non-renewal AP. You must purchase the AP at TDS, over the phone, online or by mail. That way you will get a voucher. If you tried to do it while you were in Florida, you would only be able to get a live activated AP, not a voucher.
