Arts and Crafts Question Re: Spray Adhesive on Artificial Greenery

I recently purchased a high-end wreath with artificial greenery, holly leaves, berries and silicon "ice" crystals attached to it. I have heard that the silicon crystals tend to shed. It was suggested that I use spray adhesive to decrease shedding. However, I'm concerned about changing the appearance/texture of the wreath with noticeable adhesive/residue. It wasn't cheap so I'm concerned about ruining the wreath. Any suggestions (including brand suggestions) would be appreciated. Thanks!
