With a room only discount, does it go by check-in date like FD does, or is it only available the nights listed?

I believe it is only for the nights listed, but I could be wrong.

Unlike FD, room rates/discounts are on a night by night basis.

As the pp's said, RO discounts are date specific. If, for example, your trip is for 5 nights and you check in the last day a RO discount is offered, you would get the discount for the first night only, with the following nights being at rack rate.
