I'm a bit confused and am probably making this harder than it has to be but here goes:).

I currently have 126 BLT points banked from 2009 to 2010. In April 2010 I will get another 126 pts. and also plan to borrow 2011 pts. so that I can book my entire June 2010 stay at 11 months. BUT!! (here's my dilema) I will also have 60 AKV pts. that I banked from 2009 to 2010. I will need to either use these points, loose them, or rent/transfer them. Ideally I would like to go ahead and make my ressie at 11 months using banked, current, and borrowed pts. then at 7 months attempt to reserve my last 2 nights with the banked AKV pts, then cancel 2 of the nights booked with BLT pts.. Is that even possible? My other options are to rent/transfer the banked AKV pts. or go ahead and just add a night to my June stay, this addition would be a Friday night and would eat up almost all of the banked points (this is the option that I'm leaning toward but wanted to know if the other was even possible.

Thanks and I hope that my jabbering wasn't too confusing:rolleyes1.

Yes, this is possible, but only if there is availability for those nights at the 7 month mark.

It sounds like you have an April UY. You are traveling in June 2010. Since that trips falls in your 2010 UY, you can use "banked" 2009, current 2010, and borrowed 2011 points to "pay" for it.

When you book at 11 months, that is what they will do. When you call at 7 months, if there is still availability at BLT for those two nights, they will let you "rebook" using your AKV points. If there are no nights still available (in the same room type you want), then you will not be able to just "swap" the points. That would defeat the purpose of home resort advantage.

If it were me, I don't think I would borrow BLT points when I knew I had points that had to be used in 2010. I would book a split stay at 11 months--book the nights you can at BLT using your 2009 and 2010 points and book the rest with your 2009 and 2010 AKV points.

At 7 months, you will be able to change the AKV nights to BLT if there is availability but won't have to worry about borrowed points.

Remember, once you borrow points, they can't be put back. You don't want to end up with both 2009 AKV and 2011 BLT points that you have to use by the end of your April 2010 UY (March 31st, 2011) unless you know you can.

Good luck!

Thank you. Your method makes more sense and is much less confusing:thumbsup2
