Question re Loews Gold Membership

If I book a poolview room, do I automatically get a guaranteed free upgrade or is that only from standard to poolview? I'm still a little confused after reading the Loews website. I'd really like the king suite but I see it says available for $35 only if available at check in. One more question, do I book this through 1-800-beastar or do I have to book thru Loews. Appreciate any responses.

I booked a garden view and got upgraded for free to a pool view with my Loews Gold card. No luck in trying to get a break on club level which is what I wanted but was way overpriced.

The 1-800 number worked just fine.

If you book a poolview at which hotel? At RPR you should book a garden to get a poolview and at HRH if booking a poolview the upgrade is a deluxe or a garden to a pool. There are King Suites at both HRH and RPR (although totally different rooms).

As far as booking I would call the Loews 800#. Also the rate must be a qualifying Loews rate not a APH. You can use AAA though.

Sorry about that, I'm talking about the RPR. So the guaranteed upgrade is from garden to pool view only? I've stayed here before but just became a Loews Gold member so I'm just a bit confused.

I believe at HRH the Loews gold upgrade is from garden or pool to deluxe. RPR has no deluxe rooms so they can only upgrade to pool view. PBH is from garden or bay to deluxe. The suite upgrade fee of $35 is per night will get you a king suite at RPR and HRH and a kids or portorfino suite at PBH. You can book through either but when I'm looking to upgrade, I book through the Loews First reservation line listed on the back of your card.
