Bare with me, I'm inexperienced at this cruise stuff . . .We are thinking of taking our 1st Disney Cruise in December 2003.

When you are on your "land" portion, does it include food or just the UPH tickets?

but it is my understanding that when you do the land/sea package the land part includes your hotel and your park hopper passes and that is it. You are on your own for food and drink UNTIL you hit the ship in which case you get all of it the hotel, the entertainment AND the food (with the exception of extras like pictures, excursions, hair braiding etc)!! I am doing the 3 day land 4 day sea in November and that is my understanding of it. I know you have to buy transfers to get to the hotel/ship/airport on your own IF you dont book Disney air which we didnt! I am trying to find somewhere to get 4 adults and 3 kids from airport to poly, poly to ship, ship to another hotel (not yet decided), other hotel back to airport and Disney's transfers are WAY too expensive! Other places wont accomodate us (7 of us) and so I am at a loss so I know that isnt included either!

That is correct - only the room and park hopper is included in the land portion. I'm sure you know this already, but keep in mind that it is SO expensive to eat in Disney World and it's not even that good! One thing I wish we would have done is rented a car so we could go off site because it was unbelieveable what we spent on food in just three days!!

We are doing the Land/Sea pkg this May. We booked our own air for much cheaper...Southwest had the free companion fare! We are also booking Happy Limo for transportation. It's not cheap, but we have some flexibity...and the limo fits 10(in style)! I did use the coupon from Barb's website, plus they gave me other discounts, from where I don't know!;) For a stretch limo, 3-way transfer(to and from GF, port, airport) we're paying something like $425...including the gratuity. I'm sure you could get a better rate on a rental car, but I don't want my dh to miss out on any excitement because he has to watch the roadsigns and such! I also wanted to get to the port a little early.

As mentioned above, food is not included in the pkg unless you purchase one of the other plans that does include food...What's the name, Deluxe Magic pkg or something...and others. (of course it is included on the ship)

Hope this helped a little.

Lisa :)

When we took our Land/Sea in 2000 we also booked the Magical Discoveries option for the package. That gave us Magical Options to use as we pleased. I believe it was 2 per person per day. The optional package is not very cheap, but we used it to its full advantage and got our money's worth of food and trinkets.

I am not sure if they offer this option any longer but we sure enjoyed it.

hydster........Check with yourride.net for your transfers. They gave me a quote for 8 of us for $210.00. That is from airport to hotel, hotel to ship and ship to airport. They are really reasonable. Stacey

We did the package (with an extra land night) in May, 2001, and are doing it again (with 3 extra land nights, one before and two after) in December.

We didn't spend a lot of money on food at WDW. If you're on a tight budget (and we certainly were then!), the food courts are a great option!

We only had two meals in real, sit-down, full-service restaurants in the four days we were there. We went to Boatwright's at PO Riverside for breakfast one morning, and liked it so much that we ate there the last morning while we waited for the bus to the port.

The food court at PO Riverside was very nice. Our slightly more memorable meals included dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express at Downtown Disney, the Tangerine Cafe at Morocco in EPCOT, and Pizzafari in AK, and Columbia Harbor House in MK. I don't think we missed anything (except maybe some atmosphere) in any of our meals, and you really can't eat atmosphere!
