Sibling and I are heading to Aulani this spring. We have a DVC points reservation for an island view (I think) studio. I know it wasn't ocean view or standard, so I think it was island or pool/garden. I know the studio fits 4 (one queen bed, one sofa bed).

My BFF is considering joining us but, as always, is late with the answer.

If we have her added to the reservation as a guest and she doesn't come, I know there won't be issues. But are there any extra fees that are charged? I know we have to pay TOT based upon the number of points, but don't recall ever seeing anything about being charged extra based upon exceeding 2 adults.

Thanks in advance!

Each room size has a max number of people allowed you can add or remove people as you wish up until check in. 4 is the max for a studio.

Hello, I know that (in the original post).
Since DVC at Aulani is different than DVC in WDW, I wanted to make sure there were no other additional charges. Like a TOT based on occupancy in addition to one based on points usage.

The transient tax is based on points - as you said. I don’t know of another tax based on a per person basis - and Aulani doesn’t charge resort fees etc.

But as a practical matter you would be able to add or remove her from the reservation easily closer to the actual trip date.

It's TAT, not TOT.

Transient accommodation tax, not transient occupancy tax. It's based on the room, not the people.

If you had three adults in a cash room, there would be an extra fee. But that's a Disney thing, not a tax thing. Such a fee does not apply to points reservations.
