Question re. Evening Extra Magic Hours for Deluxe

We’re returning to WDW after a five year hiatus. We visited annually for years, and I could plan a trip in my sleep. Now, I’m starting from scratch, trying to get up to speed on all the changes. Which brings me to my question.

I read on another forum that Deluxe guests get two extra hours per night in a park, depending on the day of the week. From what I understood, you need a park hopper to take advantage of this “perk,” in quotes because it used to be for all onsite guests if memory serves.

Anyway, is my understanding correct? It’s too soon to see the calendar for our dates, but I wanted to ask now so I can plan accordingly.

Thanks for your help!

The EH for guesting staying in deluxe hotels usually happens twice a week. One night at MK and one night at Epcot. If you would like to attend EH you will either need park hoppers or pick that as the park you go that day.
Thank you!

Typically, what we've been seeing is extended park hours (2 hours), usually Mondays at EP and Wednesdays at MK (subject to change, of course). You'd only need a park hopper if you do a different park earlier in the day.
Is this any different during summer months? My niece will be there post-cruise for 2 days in August but it's a Friday and Saturday for their park days. We are renting points to stay at BWV and was hoping she'd get to enjoy this perk.

They have never had them on the weekends with the current setup.

They can still get 30 minutes early to any park on any day though since you are staying on property.

The only time I’ve ever seen it different is when the Halloween and Christmas parties are happening. Usually during that time Epcot still happens on Mondays but they will substitute AK, DHS or even possibly a second Epcot extra hours for Wednesdays at MK. When that has happened the day of the week has varied (I recall seeing Friday at AK and Saturday at DHS at one point but it is not a set schedule like it normally is the rest of the year).

Historically, EEH do not happen on weekends, especially during party season which Aug now is as MNSSHP starts in Aug.

Hello! For those who have taken advantage of EEH at MK, have you found it worth it? It sounds great for my DH and I, simply because we do not rope drop and going a bit later in the day would work for us! Is it crowded? ( opinions are relative, I know....). Thank you!

We were able to grab a VQ for Tron as there was less competition for them. Of course now the VQ is gone so it should be a much shorter ride

Definitely worth it at MK, especially if you're not RD/Morning folks. It's cooler, it quiets down pretty quickly and most families don't have the energy for those late hours so it becomes more of an adults vibe. Also fewer strollers to play ankle smash derby with ;D

It's less valuable at EP since World Showcase closes at the regular time, leaving just Remy open on that side of the park, and a LOOONG walk up to World Discovery/Celebration/Nature for those attractions. (Side note: what are we calling that collective area now that Future World is no longer a thing? ;))

Thanks for the info! We will be at WL and will take advantage of it for sure. Premier Pass as well, so looking to get the most out of MK this May trip. Maybe a double ride or two, yay!

I definitely think it’s worth it for MK. Especially the later it’s open. We’ve found it pretty easy to get multiple rides on the popular rides done relatively quickly. I wouldn’t stay deluxe just for it, but it’s worth going if you’re planning on staying deluxe.

We usually try to get BTM and HM done close to actual park closing (not EEH closing). Then head over towards PP/7d. Then space and buzz. Maybe throw in Pooh. We haven’t been for Tron being a regular line yet, but the VQ was quick about a half hour in last March when it was crowded (although when we got off the line was crazy long).

I know you just mentioned MK, but we feel Epcot isn’t as worth it. The park is so spread out it’s tiring. The only thing that helps us is we stay at YC so we can usually hit remy on the way out. We did soarin then ms right before close, then went to TT, guardians vq, and just made it to remy.

So MK we get 6/7 rides done during EEH. Epcot is 2/3. But that was during crazy busy March spring break crowds in 2022 and 2024.

Absolutely. We get a truly absurd amount of rides done and last time that included Tron and Mine Train with less than 10 min waits. There are not nearly enough deluxe resort rooms to ever make it crowded there. This is not anything like the cluster bleep that PM EMH was back in the day.

For those of you who have gotten in the Tron line toward the end or the very end of the Deluxe extended hours, how long has the wait been with VQ gone? It is similar to jumping into the 7DMT queue at the end of the night?
