Question re: Crystal Palace Character Breakfast

So...I am trying to think of two nice meals to do while in Magic Kingdom. I have decided on either Liverty Tree Tavern or Tony's Town Square for dinner, but I can't decide if I should do Crystal Palace for breakfast, or skip that and get lunch and whatever place I don't choose for dinner.

It will only be my Husband and I on this trip, is the breakfast too kid-oriented for two adults, or do you think we would still enjoy ourselves?

We are going in 2009 and will upgrade to the DxDDP. I'm trying to figure out our itinerary (WAY TOO EARLY, but I'm obsessed). Can't remember how much time we spent on our last trip and the two table service meals we had. Do you think a little over an hour per meal is enough time to allot during our day for two adults? With the exception of a meal we had with HORRIBLE service that left us at the restaurant for two hours, we were out at the other restaurant in about an hour. Is this the norm??

Also - does anyone know is Bistro de France is ever offered in the DDP? I don't see it on any of the brochures, just wondering if it ever was or will be. I'm guessing no.

DH and I are 55 and 50 respectively and we ALWAYS go to Crystal Palace for breakfast. I wouldn't miss a chance to see Pooh and friends and I love the puffed french toast and potato casserole.

As far as Bistro de Paris, it is not included on any dining plan... not even the premium and platinum! One of these days we are going to have to splurge and pay OOP for this place, it is calling out to me!

So glad to hear that even the adults enjoy it! I was trying to think of somewhere to eat off resort for breakfast while we were out there without getting a muffin and a coffee and this sounds like it would be right up my alley!

Is the Crystal Ballroom character breakfast part of the DDP usually? I looked up the brochures and don't see it on there...but I may just be overlooking it. I would guess it is, since most other restaurants are, but just wanted to be sure.

It is for 2008. I read on another Disney board that it is not on the 2009 plan but I can't find a copy of the 2009 plan. I am hoping this is just an error or that they will be added. In any event, we will go back next year even if we have to pay out of pocket.

If you go to Google and type in 2009 Disney Dining Plan brochure, a link will pop up either to Mouse Savers or All Ears Net and you can see what restaurants are participating.

Unfortunately, a lot are missing from the brochure, however being sneaky like I am...I called up the ADR line and asked them to put in a hypothetical date of January 3 to try to make reservations for San Angel Inn (even though we won't be going until Sept 09). They said although it's not listed yet, it did come up as a valid entry for the DDP, along with Chefs de France.

Didn't ask about the Crystal Palace but I can only imagine it will be added.

Me and DW have ADR's for CP this Sept. our first time there and just us 55 and 54. Hope the food is as good as Boma's breakfast.

There is no place that can compare to sitting in the Crystal Palace 1st thing in the morning with the sunshine streaming in, OJ in hand, and the still relatively quiet adorable kiddos, fresh from a long nights nap behaving well as the characters interact. I've never found the atmosphere to be childish at all. It's a beautiful building that has a way of making you feel like you're in a gazebo. The food was really good too (of course we tend toward the stuff that can't be messed up such as fruit and waffles LOL) Hug eeyore for us!

I'm regretting not having booked CP for our upcoming stay, but we missed CM last time and wanted to try Stitch's breakfast at the Poly - 2 character breakfasts is enough for me per visit.

If the choice were between Crystal Palace for breakfast or Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner...which would you choose?

CP is our favorite character breakfast. If you get the 8:05 a.m. reservation for a day that the park opens at 9:00 you get to experience an empty Main St. It is great!! I am also a fan of the puffed french toast and cheesy potato casserole.

We previously loved Cinderella's Royal Table (lunchd and/or dinner) before the DDP. Since then, the have dummied down the menu and it hasn't been as good...sorry...my 2 cents.

CP is also my favorite character meal (has a lot to do with the fact that Pooh is my fave). So, it has become a tradition for the DH and I to eat there. We've been there twice for breakfast, so far, and have never felt weird or out of place without children. The interaction is still great. The character spent as much time with us as they did with the families with kiddies. In fact, on our last trip, we ate there for our anniversary and we got a Magical Moments certificate signed by Pooh and his gang that really made our day special!

Crystal Palace IS listed in the 2009 dining plan; I just checked. But it's called "A Buffet With Character at the Crystal Palace", towards the bottom of the list for MK.

Can't wait to go for breakfast with extended family Dec 2009.

My best friend and I ate there in Feb. for breakfast and loved it! It didn't feel weird at all and we even got our pics taken with eyeore and pooh

I'm trying to figure out how to fit it in our family trip in Dec. as I just love the place!

Who knows, maybe since there is a such a lack of places we are interested in easting at in Magic Kingdom I'll do both! We are scheduled to be there the whole day for one trip and the morning/early pm for another...so maybe Crystal Palace one day and Cinderella's Royal table the other if I don't find some place I would prefer to have dinner.

Apparently I have been to the Crystal Palace before. I was talking to my Mom today about it and I guess I went during one of our trips when I was like, 10...so I don't even think that counts
