question on when points become available?

My use year is September.

For 2012 I have zero points available, yup, used 'em all!

For 2013 I have 21 points available, I already borrowed against them.

So, my question is - when will my 2014 points be available to me? Is it Jan 1 always - one year prior?

They need to be available during the date of your reservation.

I guess I should explain further. Points are listed in your account by UY, not calendar year. You need to have the points available during your reservation period not on the date that you make the reservation.

No, it is not based upon the calendar year. It is based on your Use Year.

With a September Use Year, your 2014 points are valid for stays between 9/1/14 and 8/31/15. If the points are borrowed, they would move into the 2013 use year and be valid for stays between 9/1/13 and 8/31/14.

Reservations can always be booked 11 months out at your Home resort and 7 months from arrival at other resorts. The points only need to be available when the stay occurs.

Right now you could borrow the points and book a stay which commences on or after 9/1/13.

yep, based on the stay. you can book 11 months out based on home resort - nothing to do with UY month.
