Question on transferred points

Quick question

Can points that are transferred into your account be banked? I've heard conflicting information on this.

Yes. The ability to bank transfered points went into effect a couple of years ago, before then you couldn't.

I just received an e-mail back from MS on this subject. Yes, transferred points can be banked as stated in the first reply. However, it was also explained to me that points can only be transferred in one direction each use year. In other words, if you transfer points to another member you cannot transfer points back into your account in the same use year. You can however transfer points several times in a use year (as long as one direction).

And transferred points maintain the home resort and use year of the transferring contract.

I was told it could be unlimited in both directions as long as the same members don't swap. Basically, they are looking to avoid you trading points for 11 month priority and than having the points in your account in case you need to cancel.

That's my understanding.
