Question on transferred points

I have some transferred points in my account. I want to make a reservation in the 11 month window at the home resort for these points. But I'm about 10 points short for the dates I want. Does DVC allow you to purchase points at $15/point to go with transferred points on a reservation? I assume I can't use other points in my account, since they are a different home resort.

They only allow the purchase of points for $15 per point at the 7 month point. Also, points from different home resorts can only be mixed at the 7 month point.

You'll only be able to reserve as many days as you have points at that resort. So you'll probably have to reserve one less day. Then at exactly 7 months out, see if you can add the last night you need.

Also, if you really want to make sure you have that one day you could ask if there is a cash discount room and link that with the other days. Then at the 7 month mark if there is a room then cancel the cash room.
