Question on tours....

Ok i have a question about the tours in the actual park. to do the tours do you have to make an appointment? do you have to call WDW and say you want a tour on a specific date for VMK? Also, what do you win like what prizes, how much are they worth, and what do you have to actually do in the tour to get your prizes?

if anyone could help me i would really appreciate it!! thanks

I only know how it works at DLR. You have to get to the park before it opens and snake your way to the end of Main Street and wait for the rest of the park to open. When it does you have to BOOK IT down to the kiosk and sign up. I went three times before I was able to successfully get on a tour.

I have also done the tour at Disneyland but i'm pretty sure both parks are the same. You do have to get up super early to book a time either at 1 or 4 (may not be exact times). Those are the only two times you can go on tour. They can have around 15 people total. When the tour begins you have a guide that will give you a nametag and a radio thing to put in your here so you can here the tour guide at all times.
You are taken around the park, to the "partners" statue, to the bazaar, to the star trader. Basically, the tour will tell you how vmk works in the beginning. Then the guide will show cool pictures of stuff in vmk and will ask questions about where vmk got certain areas from. Like the vmk castle is actually the one in Disney Paris! You go on Jungle cruise and there you get to answer questions to earn cards for vmk. On Jungle cruise you can win stuff like the explorer's tent room, rare photo safari poster or hippo rug. The next ride is Big thunder, at the end the guide will ask questions and give you big thunder teleporters if your correct! The guide will also show you a glimpse of the frontierland set to open in vmk really soon. It's really cool. Then you either go on Haunted mansion (coming back to DLR) or pirates of the caribbean. You take a quest of which ever and are awarded prizes. It's a really fun experience and you get to go on rides while earning rare vmk loot!
I would recommend it anyday with ppl saying you can skip the tour! Their loss!
