Question on those home "gold" parties~~~

I guess a girl at work is having one of these parites next weekend. I've never been to one but I have read about them.

I have never really been a jewelry person. I wear my wedding set and my mothers ring and that's it. I mean I've never even owned a necklace or bracelet or "real" earrings. The only other jewelry that I have are two rings that my DH bought when we were dating as teenagers. Mind you, they no longer fit and I have no desire to wear them again. Along with those I have my class ring (I have my DH's too, he never wears it and probably never will)

My question is....would it even be worth it to bring these 4 items to the party to see what I get for them? I'm not looking to make a bundle but I'm not even sure if class rings would net you any $$$.

Your experiences? Did you get $$$ for your class rings? ***I also have an ID bracelet that I bought for DH back when we were dating. Is this something that people bring to these types of parties?

I just went to one and my friend and I both brought our class rings. They were not that heavy by any means and she got $75 and I got $85 for our rings. I walked out that night with a check for $855, not too bad!!

Oh wow, much more than I thought!!! Since I've never been to these types of parties, I was thinking more along the lines of a few bucks!!! I know my DH's is quite a bit heavier than mine, so I'm wondering how much his would take in? HMM, maybe I will take a ride with my friend to this party. Even if I came out of there with $50, I'd be happy. LOL I mean, these rings have just been sitting there for years!!!
