Question on the ice cream social

I've heard alot of people mentioning doing the ice cream social and wondering what it is, where it is, and how much it is. LOL We are doing a character lunch at MK and thought about doing this too but wanted more info. Thanks for anyone who can help me out.

I've never been, but hear it is worth the money!
here is what I found for you:

"Every afternoon at 3:00 (and in high season, also at 3:15) there is an "Ice Cream Social" at the revolving Garden Grill restaurant in The Land at Epcot. The price is $6.99 plus tax and tip per person (same price for kids). You get to enjoy a massive and delicious ice cream sundae while Mickey and friends visit the tables and interact with the guests. A great way to get out of the heat and relax in the mid-afternoon. Priority Seating through (407) WDW-DINE is highly recommended. (By the way, if you inquire in advance, a diabetic/sugar-free version is available.)"

We are planning on doing this because I have been told that this is a nice way to avoid large crowds at this time and a nice way to see characters. Here is my question.........................My husband is lactose intolerant and I am not a huge ice cream fan, so do we have to buy a Sunday also? My sons, 5 & 3 cannot go alone. Will we(my husband and I) have to order even though we will not be eating?

You can go for a $5.00 entertainment fee.

You should call the Garden Grill in advance they may have a lactaid type ice cream that your husband could tolerate. Just a thought.

What about bringing Lactaid in with you?? We do it all the time....DH LOVES ice cream....we don't love DH if he has it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
