Hi all...question on SWA credits vs. points......I have 14.5 credits from the old RR program....need 1800 POINTS to make 16 credits for free round trip under old program......HOWEVER, I currently have close to 14,000 points in the new program and will have 17,000 with my next statement (less than two weeks). I do not want to convert 1800 points at this time since my oldest credits from the old RR program will not expire until 5/12 and we may want to use those credits for a trip to either Arizona or Washington (state) either January, 2013 or early spring 2013....since the old credits will be a much better value than points on those flights. So.........can I just leave the old credits sit right where they are and NOT convert at this time, BUT, use some of my new points for our trip to WDW this October for F & W Festival........ or will SWA make me convert and use those older credits first? I don't want to convert until next spring ...right before those credits expire..... if possible to give me the maximum time usage of those older credits......since we can't make our West Coast trip until at least January 2013 and with the conversion they will not allow you to extend past the 12 months usage. Anyone know these answers? I think I'm probably going to spend some phone time talking to SWA customer service on this one........
