Question on Split Stay

We would like to do a split stay (OKW & POR), but unsure how that works. Do you have to book room only and buy park tickets seperate? Does this mean you don't have one card that covers everything (charge to room, get into parks)? Planning a 12 day stay, so want to buy 10 day tickets.

This is just what we did. We just came back from a split stay. When we checked into the Boardwalk we purchased our hopper tickets and they put them right ontp our room card. When we transferred to the BCV we got new room key cards. We could have transferred our hopper passes to the new cards if we had wanted but we just ended up walking around with both the Boardwalk and BCV keys.
