Question on room requests?

I am learing alot about the DVC. One thing I havn't seen mention relates to room requests. I know when you rent a regular room you can fax the room controller 4-5 days in advance of your arrival and request certain rooms, floors, etc. Is this something that is done with a DVC room as well. When you book a perferred view room, can you request where you want it? And if so do they usually honor your requests? Thanks!

You can request a certin room, location, ect. at the time that you make your reservation. They do try to honor your request when you arrive. We do this everytime we make a reservation and only on a few of our trips we did not get exactly what we requested, but close. They do however try to honor smoking and non-smoking rooms when you request one.
