Question on Point Transfers

So I'm transferring points from a contract in my Dec UY to my June UY (these are Dec 2022 UY points that I'm moving in). Since the June UY is 2022, does that mean I can't transfer in to my June UY again until 6/1/2023? Furthermore, if I were to wait until Dec 1, 2022 to transfer, could I transfer both the 22 and 23 points? Thanks!

Transferring limits are based on your use year. You could transfer 2023 points now.

You're correct that transfers are limited to once per use year. After receiving or sending a transfer, you can't perform another transfer for that use year.

The exception seems to be when making multiple transfers between your own accounts. Member Services seems to make an exception when you're the only person involved.

What is the benefit in transferring your own points between contracts? At booking, don't you have the ability to choose which points you use if you have more than one contract? Not trying to be down on it, I'm genuinely curious because I haven't heard of that before.

If you have multiple UYs, the only way to combine those points is to do a transfer from one to the other.

For example, let's say that I have 50 BWV points with a December UY and 50 AKV points with an October UY. I want to book a villa at SSR that requires 130 points. I cannot bank + borrow enough points using either contract. I can only bank 50 and borrow 25 for a maximum total of 125 points (50 banked + 50 current + 25 borrowed). BUT I can transfer the points that I need from October's UY to December's and have enough to make the reservation at 7 months.

Forgive my ignorance if I have this wrong. So transferred points don't keep their use year, they assume those of the contract they're moved to?

No. They retain their home resort and UY.

That's what I thought. So why wouldn't you just leave it and choose which points you want at booking since you have to wait for the 7 month point on both contracts anyway? Am I missing something?

Because you don't have enough points under one UY to book the reservation. You're not "transferring" points that are within the same membership. That's not even necessary. You're transferring points from different memberships, albeit different memberships which are both owned by yourself.

You must choose your contract you will be using before your try to make the reservation. When I’m using my SSR August use year contract, I don’t have an option to use my AKV April contract points. They don’t show up.

Aha! This is the piece of information I was missing. All of my contracts are same resort and use year. I didn't know you had to choose beforehand.

Thank you both for helping me understand.

To make completely clear, each UY means a separate membership. You can have multiple contracts with the same UY and can use them as you’re accustomed to doing. But having more than one UY means having more than one membership, as if you’re separate people, and to use them together you have to transfer.
