Question on point banking

Let's say I get my first 160 points in June 09. If I want to book for a trip in my home resort in August 2010, and I call Sep 09 to book it, how many points will I have available through banking, borrowing, etc?

You will get 160 points in June, 2009 and 160 points in June, 2010 (320 available total). However, when you call to make your reservation in Septmber, 2009, if you are short points, they can just be borrowed from your June, 2010 points. Happy planning!

Yes, you got it!!! Your August 2010 vacation falls in your June 2010 UY. To "pay" for that trip with points, you can use all June 2009 points (that you must bank into 2010), 2010 points, and borrow from June 2011 points.

When you call in September 09, you will still be in the banking window for the 09 points so you can do that all in the same call (and yes, if you fail to bank those points by January 31st, you will have to use them by May 31st, 2010).

When MS makes the reservation, they will only "borrow" the points from your 2011 UY, if the trip takes more the 320 points.

But remember, any points you borrow from 2011 into 2010, will then have to be used by May 31st, 2011.
