Hi and another question on Disney Park Tickets.

Has anyone been in the situation of having time left on their Premium Annual Pass but also having a 14-Day Ultimate Ticket.

If so what are the options that WDW ticketing Office will offer you, such as trading in, refunds, changing the Ultimate Ticket to the following year or to another type of ticket?

Any advice with be very much appreciated and sorry if this has recently been asked........

Did you buy the 14-Day Ultimate Ticket to get free dining? I'm presuming yes or why else would you have bought tickets you don't need, and i'm thinking because of that they won't give you anything. I'm just guessing though, its worth asking when you are there as you might get a CM who'll help but i'm pretty sure it woud be a no as your APs last a year so no extention to that and your 14-Day Ultimate Tickets would be on your room keys.

Unless there's an expiration date on the Ultimate ticket, I would say that you could just keep it for your next trip?

I am not sure how the Ultimate ticket works though, so not sure if that's an option.

Many thanks Chilly & Cmwade77 for your replies.

We're looking at the option of free dinning for a part of next years holiday and with that we will have the Ultimate Tickets which we wouldn't need as our PAP's will still be current.

We know that if we don't use the Ultimate Tickets on that trip then they can be used at a later date in 2014 right up until 31st December for it's first use but at the moment we're not sure if we can make that second trip.

Therefore, we were hoping that someone else has already been in the same position and asked the question of a refund or a transfer to another type or date at the Ticketing Office.

Cheers :thumbsup2

Do the tickets have your name on them? If not, Since they have not yet been used, you could probably sell them to someone else, unless that is against the rules of the ticket.

We always have APs so when we look at free dining (like we are going this summer) and have to buy tickets I include them as a cost when comparing it to other ways of staying ie renting points, room only with discount etc.

If I then upgrade them (we will be upgrading DD for her in December as her pass expires then not sure about ours as they run to April 2014) great if not I still know I got the best deal.

You may get lucky and get a CM that will extend them but its not standard procedure. May have had more luck if they still had the premium as that converted straight to MYW.

Why not buy the premium instead of the ultimate to get free ddp and and then upgrade it to non expiry?

Alternatively activate and use the ultimate on the last day of your last holiday in 2014 as the PAP will start from there. A friendly CM might even give you the full year from expiry of your existing AP if you ask.

When we had APs I didn't bother looking at the free dining offer because its not really free if your paying for tickets you don't need. Have you thought about renting DVC points?

Claire, the OP is a DVC owner. I suspect they are looking at the free dining as a way of either preserving points or doing a split stay :confused3

OP, I would save a the ticket for another visit (if you can) or, as another poster suggested, see if you can get premiums rather than Ultimates, so you can 'upgrade' them to non-expiry. It may even be worth 'upgrading' to a regular AP (with the DVC discount) which starts straight away in order to get 'extra' months (of course, that would only work if you planned to return before it expired).

You certainly wouldn't get a refund or anything on the ticket, though, as the whole point of the 'free' DDP package is that you have to buy the tickets as aprt of the package, in order to get the free dining.

Many thanks wilma-bride, Chilly, mossyflossy, Elise79 and cmwade77 for your replies.:thumbsup2

Yes, we're now looking at a split stay; for next year we had thought of a short stay in a studio at GF (if we're luck) and if not at BLT's and then the remaining stay in a 1-bed at OKW or AKL.

So we're now looking at the advantages of Disney's free dinning offer, $200 gift card, 3% off with Quidco, housekeeping ever day which we don't mind and even the free refillable mugs which we paid for this year. So instead of staying in a 1-bed on points, we're looking at booking into either an OKW or SSR studio or 1-bed with free dinning.

And if we can upgrade the 14-day tickets to an annual pass then that makes the free dinning offer a much better option.

I've just sent an e-mail to Disney Ticketing with my question and when I get a reply I will post it here.

As for the Premium ticket, they don't seem to be on offer next year, on the web site they are only offering the 7-day (£278.00) 14-day (£278.00) or 21-day (£305.00) Ultimate Tickets.

Further Question: Do you think it might be more advantageous to buy the 21-day ticket for an extra £27.00, so when upgrading we might get a higher amount than the £27 ($42) to off-set against the premium annual pass?
Many thanks

Unfortunately the seemed to have dropped the premium ticket next year :sad2:

I wouldn't spend extra for the sole purpose of upgrading as the exchange rate could move and you might be worse or your could be better off.

When booking the free dining I want the minimal outlay in advance if I don't need the tickets.

Next year is too expensive for us on the free dining offer - we will be renting points instead :goodvibes

Just received the following response from Disney, unfortunately they didn't answer all of our questions but at least we know we can upgrade to another annual pass which makes the free dining offer a little more attractive......

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney Travel Co. UK.

You may upgrade the Ultimate Tickets into an Annual Pass as long as you do not use any of the days at Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports, DisneyQuest and Oak Trail. In order to upgrade your ticket you would need to do so at any Theme Park Guest Relations or Downtown Disney Guest Relations. They will take the value of your ticket and put it towards a purchase of an Annual Pass.
