Ok I have very thinly sliced italian bread, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, do you need to toast the bread before putting it in the oven? What temp in the oven do you put it on? and are there any seasonings or oil or anything else I can put on this?
I don't normally cook-EVER so dont mind me for being niave about making something that is probably so simple-LOL:crazy:

I toast mine on an airbake pan at 375 until it's golden and put just a bit of butter on the bread.

My bruschetta is balsamic vinegar, garlic, a touch of oil, and tomatoes. I spoon that on the bread, top it with a piece of prosciutto and some sharp provolone.

I'd use the broiler setting. Toast the bread on both sides, then top the pieces and heat them up a little more.

Olive oil and some garlic spread on the bread will be a nice addition, but otherwise, seasoning is up to your personal preference. :)

I'm not exactly sure but you sure made me hungry for some. I love that stuff. Darn it , I may have to go to the store now.:p

I buy the bruschetta at Wal-mart already mixed. It is in the with the veggies at my store.

Might have to go make some now. :teeth:

i'm hungry now too. :p

if you have a trader joes near you they also sell premade bruschetta topping (in the refrigerated section) that is pretty good. that's what i usually use if i am short on time.

I brush the bread with a small amount of garlic-infused olive oil and broil both sides until toasted. (Sometimes DH will toast them on the grill).

For the bruchetta mix, I mix the chopped tomatoes with olive oil, balsamic vineger, crushed garlic, chopped fresh basil, and salt and pepper to taste. Let it sit at room temperature for a couple of hours to let the flavors blend.

I don't re-broil after topping bread.

I do the exact same thing as Specialk does. Sometime I dice up some black olives and put them in the mixture.

I make it like this:

Lightly spread some olive oil on French bread

Top with spinach leaf, slices of roma tomato, and freshly grated parmesan.

Bake until lightly toasted.

YUMMY.
