Question on Magic Bands and Memory Maker

It's been a few years since I've been back to Disney, I'm less than 2 weeks away from my trip and just want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row.

Since my family is staying offsite I purchased us all Magic Bands (know it wasn't necessary to do, but wanted to ease of having everything in one spot). I've got everyone in the family hooked up to the MDE app and have linked all tickets to the bands, etc. My only worry at this point is if I've done the Memory Maker correctly. I pre-purchased and linked it to my account, but do I still need to get a Photopass card for each family member and link them to the bands as well? I want to make sure we get the ride videos (where available) and I know they only work with the bands. This is truly the only thing that has me confused at this point. In the past I've always used the Photopass cards, never a Magic Band. Any help in understanding how the process works will be greatly appreciated!

No. Everyone listed in your MDE is linked to Memory Maker and only one person, any person, needs to have their MB scanned.

Is this also true for people listed as "family and friends"? I am meeting up with a girlfriend tomorrow who purchased Memory Maker on her MDE, but we split the cost. I can see her photos, but I must pay to download them. She'll download our photos for me, so I'm not concerned about that, but if I scan my band for photos, will they also show up under the same Memory Maker so she CAN download them for me? Thanks!

Yes. Anyone listed or linked to an MDE where MM is linked will have photos automatically linked.

Yes, Family and Friends is the same thing as everyone listed in your MDE. So yes, any pictures that you get by scanning your band will show up in her account and she can download them.

Just a note to further help with your concerns... the pictures/videos will show up fairly quickly in the MDE app. Keep half an eye on that as you go to make sure that things are showing up. If not, you can investigate rather than finding out after your trip if there is an issue.

So I read this: "Attraction photos can only be linked to your Disney account if Memory Maker is assigned to you. Your family and friends can link attraction photos to their Disney account(s)." SO.....This means that if I'm not in one of the rides/attraction and my husband is ..his picture wont be in my account? (I am the account manager) Even if is he is using magic band?

The ride "readers" read any MagicBand that passes by.

The photo is sent to the associated MDE account whether it has Memory Maker linked or not.

I don't have MM, but I have ride photos and the 7DMT video linked in my MDE account - they've been in my account since last month.

I purchased it several weeks ago, maybe a month or so. I know I'm good as far as the timing for the pre-purchase, I just wasn't sure about getting the photos from others bands and if I needed to get a Photopass card and link that to my band.

Great idea!! I never can wait until I'm home to look at the Photopass photos, so that will definitely be a great way to make sure everything is working properly. Thanks!!
