Basically everytime i have gone DLP i have been questioned on DD's age and then having to produce her passport to prove she is in fact under 3.

Now this trip i dont want to keep having to take her passport out in case we get asked that dreaded question as im worried it might get lost etc.

Will they accept a photocopy of her passport as proof of age? I know you may think im crazy but i know for sure she will probably get asked more than once on this trip how old she is.

She is already 38inches and nearly tall enough to ride ToT and BTM

I would guess that it'll depend on what sort of mood the CM is in who asks you.

Personally, I'd just use the passport - I always take mine with me when I go out drinking at home in case I get ID'd. So long as you make sure that you put it somewhere safe e.g. in a purse / wallet or similar important and safe place, then there shouldn't be a problem.

Unfortunately, it's quite hard to think of anything else that you could use for an under 3 as ID!

Photocopy birth certificate?

Might be a bit clearer than a photocopied passport?

just a thought.

That's a point - if you wanted a cheapish, official form of ID, then you should be around to order a spare birth certificate for around £7 - £10.

There's some information about doing that here if you're interested.

I don't think unfortunately CM's would accept the birth certificate... it could be anyone's since there is no photo id.
What about getting a colour photocopy of the passport or asking at reception when you check in for something :)

True. I forget, do the park tickets have the person's name, or just the booker of the holiday. If they have the ticket owner's name, then you might be able to use that with the birth certificate. Alternatively, based on the above suggestion, you could possibly get City Hall to approve your photocopy in some way.

Last time we were there, we had travellers cheques and when we cashed them we needed ID and always used a photocopy of our passport as we didnt want to carry the real one with us and there were no problems at all with the photocopy. It was a colour one.
Some CM's even had a good joke about my grandma's photo one hers LOL.

oh yes fair point! Durrrr, silly me. of course there's no photographic ID with a birth cert!

Worth a try though, if you could get City Hall to somehow 'authorise' a copy birth cert?

A photocopy of the passport page is probably the best bet. I wouldn't walk around with my passport on me, in truth, partic. if you're going to have to get it out frequently.

I Kept everything I had with me, I didnt feel safe leaving it in hotel room in a locked case! I took all my travel insurance, passport, cash and flight numbers in a one of those draw string bags, I never once took that bag off my back and kept what cash I needed out in my jeans pocket.

It was easy to do that in the winter when it was so cold i didnt need to take off my jacket, but if it warm when we go in october I may think twice about doing that.

I did scan our passports before we left and printed it off so that was in colour.

I have a tough time proving my dd is the age that she is *** she is so dainty, even though there is an adamant child telling everyone how old she is, right down to the year and time of her birth!

I would have thought a colour photocopy of her passport would be OK?

Its advisable when travelling to have a photocopy of the photo page of your passport in case it goes missing you have your passport number on it & makes it easier to cancel it.

Thanks guys, i think i'll do a colour copy of her passport page and ask at reception when i check in if its acceptable.

I just dont like the thought of carrying my passport around as if it gets lost then ill have more than a panic attack.

Yeah thats what worried us too. But everyone was fine with the colour photocopy and we left our proper passports and other important things in a safe at the hotel. It was great.

I guess if they do refuse ill just have to go back to the hotel and get her passport.
