Can someone tell me when WDW has all of the Christmas decorations up? The past two years our trips have fallen short of being able to see ALL of the WDW Christmas decorations, by coming home the Friday before Thanksgiving (some decoration were up but not all). So this year I made plans to arrive on 11/29 and stay thru 12/4 hoping all decoartions will be completed. BUT now our friends are going 11/20-11/27 and want us to change our dates to go with them; which I would like to do but not if it means once again not being able to see all of WDW completely decorated for Christmas.... Does anyone know when the decorating is complete??

Thanks

Usually between Thanksgiving and December 1st everything will be done. MK will go up first due to MVMCP.

Some years they seem to start earlier and some years later. :confused3

The decorating in the parks is finished by the Friday after Thanksgiving- when Epcot starts its holiday celebration- the other parks are done before then. The only exception to this is the MK Christmas Tree that does not go up until the parade taping is over the first weekend in Dec normally. I would guess there is a possibility that the tree won't go up until after Dec 8th if they have the parade taping at that time. All of the other decorations should be up by Thanksgiving weekend. Some resorts have a gingerbread contest for employees and those items may have very different time periods for going up then the regular resort decorations. I have seen them wait until around Decd 20th for some of those items to go up but those are personally done not the Disney done ones.

To clarify, when you state by the Friday after Thanksgiving, do you mean "Black Friday", the shopping day or the Friday after that, which would have been Dec. 2nd this past year?

We were there the week before thanksgiving. Studios and AK were fully decorated. EPCOT tree was up, but the candlelight procession doesn't start until thanksgiving, they seem to get lots done after the food and wine ends..like the next night. MK...everything but the tree is up 'cause the parties start in mid november. We are going Nov 28-dec 3 this year.

When the first Candlelight Processional is held, everything is up by then.

Thank you all for the information... Sounds like just to be safe we'll keep our original reservation dates... Plus hopefully the crowd levels will be a bit lower waiting until after the Thanksgiving weekend.

We left the sunday before thanksgiving...that afternoon MK was a ZOO!!! We had low crowds until then...didn't go in the park that Sat (except sat morning for the Africa Trek), then left to spend with friends off-site, so perhaps the crowds picked up then too. Friday was fine. We were there for ten days.:cool1:Y
