Question on handicapped decals for cars

We are going from BC down to California to Disneyland next week. We are flying and renting a van. Can we take our wheelchair parking decal and use it in another country and state?? They are universal right??

Yes California has foreign reciprocity and will allow you to use your disabled decal, license plate or placard. Do bring your info that came with the placard just in case you do run into someone who does not know what reciprocity is, lol.

I know you will be able to park in the blue parking spots. I do not know if the foreign reciprocity would include the free parking at meters for example. Definitely you would be able to park in the blue zones.
