Question on dress definition

Hi All - I am still trying to get to Birmingham! We have flights into London on the 30th of July and return home from London on the 8th of August. Nothing in between has been booked. I've been told I'm too anxious, but I say book a hotel or two already!

Anyway, the reason I will be there is the ITF World Championships. On August 3rd there is a banquet. The cost is 50BPS. Too rich for me, but my nephew should go and meet people, make connections, you know? The dress is listed as "smart". How do you define that? Jacket and tie? Business attire? Obviously not jeans or khakis....actually I am relieved it's too expensive for me. Now I won't need nice clothes! LOL Then again, what about the restaurants in the area if the NIA? Are jeans acceptable dress?

While the team is busy, I hope to see Stratford Upon Avon - heard there was a steam engine ride to get there? Is that worthwhile? The Cadbury factory would be nice although we have the Hershey factory near home here. Hope to see a DIS'er or two . Oh and I'll have to go watch my nephew compete. The rest of the team want to sightsee in London before going home. I've been there twice and would rather see Edinburgh for the fourth time, but I don't get to choose.

Sounds like a great trip planned. I think 'smart' would be trousers and a shirt??

Hopefully some on from the Birmingham area will be able to help you with regards to restaurants in the area.

Ooo cool your coming, deedee said something about meeting up! i would also said -shirt, tie, smart trousers....not like dinner wear though.

Thanks, I'll let his Mom know he needs to have something nice. The banquet would be 298 people I don't know, me and Jesse. Not sounding very appetizing to me So I am giving myself the night off. I think I do not need to see anything at the arena the next day either.

Deedee said I didn't have to wear lime green. Whew! You all will recognize me anyway - I'm Pooh - Zilla sized, a bit hard to miss!
