Question on Discount Rates/May Trip

Being that I've only traveled during 'value' season, I'm a little lost with all this talk on discount codes? I usually book my trips through AAA, and never looked into these codes before. From reading the post on here, it seems there may be codes for our possible early May vacation---but are these only for AP holders, or can the general public use them? We would book the entire package (dining, tickets, etc), so would these codes be good, or are they room-only codes?

Finally, anyone with vacation experience in early May, please post your thoughts----I've always stayed Feb or Dec time, so I'm worried about the crowds.....
