I am going to call today to book for our May 2003 trip to WDW. We have never stayed at the Contemporary before.

We are going to book the Standard View rooms. My mother is visually impaired, so I would like to have our rooms as close to the main entrance as possible. Does someone know a room that I could request? Also - do they have corner rooms?

Thanks in advance!

We stayed in Room 7188 last year. It was the first room in the North Garden Wing. Took about 10 steps to the Main Building, right at the Food Court and Arcade. There was a small patio out front, but you were facing the parking lot, thus the Standard View. Personally, we didn't mind a bit. You were close to the bus stop, very close to the Main Tower Building, and close to the Magic Kingdom walkway. This room was partially handicapped accessible, two queen beds plus a day bed, but the bathroom was all one big room, with grab bars near the toilet, so a wheelchair could access it. There was a tub, however, no roll in shower. I think this room with it's lack of barriers would be perfect for your visually impaired Mom. We liked it!
