Question On Connecting Rooms

Do you mean connecting, where the doors open up to another room? Adjoining just means that the rooms are right next to each other. If you have a map of the ship, it will indicate connecting room with little arrows. Maybe there's a map here. Can anyone post a link? I have the brochure too, but there are too many rooms to list. It would be better if you could see for yourself.

I re-read your question. Let's see, category 4, 5, 6 and 8 look like they connect.

Sorry, I meant connecting. I'm looking for a more affordable option for my family of 5, than the Cat. 4. We have 3 small children so we would have to have a door between the 2 rooms.

It will be cheaper to book two connecting Cat 10 rooms than one Cat 4 room. Plus, you'll have two bathrooms, two TVs, more closet space, two bunk beds (which kids always seem to fight about), etc. Look at a deck plan and you'll see little black arrows that designate when rooms are connecting.

:teeth:

The lowest category you can get with connecting rooms is a Category 10. They do not have connecting rooms in 11 or 12. The highest categories 1 and 2 do not have connecting. So the categories with connecting rooms are 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,and 3. Good luck booking. I had trouble finding connecting rooms on the internet sites. I had to book them directly through Disney. Disney said they don't always offer those rooms to the outside travel agents. So if you don't find what you are looking for on the internet, call Disney and see what connecting rooms they have available. Good luck.

Oops! I forgot to mention cat 10 has connecting rooms too. Make sure you say "connecting" when reserving your rooms. Then double check to make sure that's what you get. We asked for 2 cat 6 connecting rooms, and when we double checked, found out they were just adjoining, not connecting. I had to get the TA to find 2 connecting rooms, which she did with no problem! :sunny:

Don't forget to take 2 rubber door stoppers! I only took one! I got a 3 pack at my Dollar Tree for......$1.00!

We have CAT 6 connecting rooms for our cruise on Sept. 11th. My DH, myself and our 4 kids. It will be nice to have 2 rooms and with connecting it will seem like one big room. It will be nice to have 2 bathrooms as well. It should be a very nice way for the 6 of us to travel.

The only concern I have is 2 verandahs. I'll have to lock the door to the verandah in the kids room or I will panic the whole time about one of them falling overboard. The youngest is 6, the oldest 15...can't guarantee they wouldn't do something stupid. :confused3

Will the door stops work!?? I don't remember about DCL Magic...but on all our other cruises, the doors were slightly elevated with a rimmed door jam...so door stoppers would have to be atleast 6 inches high!

PS. we have connecting cat. 9 for Nov. and need to know if door stoppers will work better than a bungee chord!

Jules123....you can go into a travel agency that sells Disney trips and ask for the brochure on the cruises. It's a big blue book with Ariel swimming in deep water with pink coral at the bottom. Inside it has a fold out that shows all of the decks on the ship, including all of the staterooms and which ones have connecting rooms.
If you are just wanting the numbers of some connecting rooms I could help you if you don't want to run out to a TA. Just PM me.
Love your name...our youngest daughters nickname is Jules...Julia. :sunny:

Does anyone happen to know....I want to buy a door lock and secure it to the top of the sliding door to our verandah to keep the kids from going out there. Will it work?
I won't sleep at night if I can't guarantee the door won't open. It will be bad enough during the trip not to constantly think about one of them falling overboard. Not crazy, I think. :teeth: Just a huge fear of mine.
I'm a great swimmer, but the jump would be scary. :rotfl:

You can see the deck plans by clicking on the Deck Plans link at the top of the page. Then click on the specific deck you're interested in to see it larger. The ones with the arrows like 2018 and 2020 or 2518 and 2520 are connecting.

I believe the verandah doors have a lock at the top that would work fine to keep the younger ones from opening the door - not sure about the 15 yo however. He's probably tall enough to reach it.

I think the veranda doors are that high, but the doors in between the cabins are much lower... and since you would need a stopper for each side of the connecting doors....

on the 3 night Wonder last week. The space was great. I also thought the cat. 4 would be too small for a family of 5. My TA booked it for us. We asked ourt stateroom hostess how to keep the doors between the rooms opened and she simply removed something at the top of the doors and they stayed open with no problems.

I have booked these two cat 10's as connecting. Did it throughTom at All Season's travel. I used the Passporter Guide to determine which would be the less noisy rooms on deck 2. Found it to be very helpful!

We had connecting rooms 2646-2648 and LOVED them. They are Cat-9's and we had NO problem with noise.

We are rebooked for the same rooms this Xmas.

I do recommend going to office depot (or staples) and getting -2- LARGE door stops.

Enjoy!

Having two split bathrooms was like having -4- bathrooms!
