Question on changing Reservation

We really want to stay at Boardwalk in mid October. However, since that is not our home resort, I cannot book until mid March. Would it be wise to book our home resort now and try to change to Boardwalk after March? Is it a big hassel to change? Do you rebook the same block of points, or do they bank those and use new points? Does MS get annoyed with this type of planning?

I expect mid October to be rather busy with Food & Wine going on. Any advice would be appreciated.

BWV or BCV will be extremely tough to get at 7 months during F&W Fest. I would book your home resort at 8-11 months out and then try to switch. Keep your fingers crossed and try to book day by day at 7 months if you can. Your other options might be to rent points now for the October stay but you need to move fast on that. Cash ressie is another way if you have to have the Epcot Resorts during that time. Good luck.
