I have just booked a rental @ Alamo picking up at MCO and dropping off at the Car Care centre as I have heard that it could be time consuming to return the car at the airport, so I figure I would return it the night before and just take Disney bus to the airport.

Questions

- do they have shuttles there at the Car Care centre that drops you back to your resort ?

- is Southwest finally on the list where you can check in your bag at the resort already ?

- can I use ME only for the return flight ?

Yes, you can take ME in only one direction.

Have you priced out getting your rental from the lot at the Swan/Dolphin? I think it's National or Enterprise, and there are almost always discount codes on mousesavers.com. It will save you a lot of back and forth and you can take ME both ways. (We rented from Alamo in Orlando... oh, it must have been 15 years ago... bad experience.)

Hi

I know you already have it booked, but just to offer another thought...

We have been renting with Alamo the last few Disney trips (most recently February 2010) and have always picked up and returned to the airport.

Airport return was very easy. You just pull in, someone comes over with a little scanner thingy and gives you a receipt and you are done.

That sounds a lot easier and less time consuming than dropping off at Care Car, getting back to your resort, being carless for a period of time, and then having to take Magical Express to the airport.

Depending if your airline participates, you can check your luggage through and get your boarding passes at your resort even if you are not doing Magical Express.

I prefer having the car for the full time.

Nothing wrong with your plan, just wanted to put another suggestion out there. And it's easy enough to make another reservation at Alamo in case you change your mind.

Whatever you choose, have a great trip

thanks for the reply , yes, I like to have the car all the time also, I just concerned that I might stuck in traffic as my flight is 11:15 am, so I assume I need to be at the airport at like 9:15 am so I might get stuck at rush hour traffic , would rather stuck at traffic in a bus then driving....not too sure yet, since making reservation costs nothing I made 2 x different ones one to return to MCO and one to car care..still have some time to decide.

Also depends on if I can check the bags in with SouthWest or not, ME might be easier....instead of after returning the car that we need to wheel the bags to the terminal..

We have rented a car the last three times. pick up and drop off (Alamo) have been awsome. We will not do Disney w/o a car

btw...just called Disney to make my final payment found out that SouthWest passagers still cannot check in their bags at the resort..

One time we needed a car for just one day because we were driving over to Tampa for a Yankee:cool1: spring training game. We rented from Alamo and picked up and dropped off at the Dolphin. That was very convenient. When we stayed at Vero Beach in November we again rented from Alamo but this time at Orlando airport and it was very quick and easy. Next week we are renting again and will do the pick up and drop off at the airport. We find it very easy since we just use the kiosck and print out our paperwork, walk across to the garage and pick out the car we want.
