Question on Cancelling Waitlist

I have two studios (one HA) reserved for November for SSR and have a waitlist request for either the first half or second half of the week at AKV Concierge--which I realize now is probably an impossibility.

After much consideration, I also think moving resorts is going to be too much of an issue with my Mom (and ECV) so am thinking of cancelling the waitlist and just staying at SSR the entire time. However, I have read horror stories on here about people who change something on their reservation and end up losing their reservation!

Would I be safe to cancel the waitlist? Or should I just let nature take its course and since we probably wouldn't get it anyway don't sweat it?

I would cancel the waitlist. It should not affect your current reservation.

Just remember to call back a couple of days later to verify that the waitlist was really cancelled. i have had numerous instances where I asked them to cancel a waitlist and they have told me it was done only to call back a week later and find the waitlist still active.
