question on buying for a newbie

I was originally going to purchase 225 points at AKV (100/100/25) but now that BLT has opened I would love to split between the two. Would it be possible to purchase some type of split (120/110). My guide stated that it would be possible to buy AKV and then buy a add on at BLT after closing but I can understand why they wouldn't want to finalize the whole deal at one time. Anyone have any advice.

You need to have an existing membership to process an add on. Doing both at the same time you would run the risk of getting things screwed up.

I liked the AKV in general but would like the flexibility of having two home resorts to book 11 months out. I figured with approx. 120 points I would have approx. 240 points every other year at both resorts by banking and borrowing.

One problem with a split of your points is that you have to wait until 7 months to combine the points. My DW and I checked on this. We currently own at SSR, and were thinking of adding on at BCV. The deciding factor was that you have to wait until 7months out to combine the points.
