Question: Japanese Anime Costumes

I'm doing this to help some friends since I usually lurk. With the new rules for carry ones they are debating if the costumes should be checked or carried on(for an upcoming anime thing). They are checking the fake swords but wanted to be sure

The costumes are just cloth? If so I can't imagine them being a problem to carry on.

Passing word along! They just worried because the costumes are somewhat expensive(they made parts and bought others)

The characters are Spike from Cowboy Bebop and Vash from Trigun
