I have a question!

hubby and I are planning on a trip soon... I have been to Disney like a million times but I have a serious question! lol!

We never actually buy the entire photopass because it is soo much money.. sometimes, we'll buy a few pics.. but nothing major (normally I end up looking like crap soon after entering the park, thanks to the humidity!) ... so to LOVE a whole album and spend 100+ dollars on a CD is not for us!... so I wanted to ask everyone...

Is it okay to ask the photopass photographers to take pics of you with your own camera?

Or is that tacky??

What do ya'll say??

I've never done it before...

:wave2: It is not tacky at all. They many times offer before you ask. It's part of their job. Have fun!

Okay! Thank you so much! BTW, I LOVE your Signature.... "King of Kings"! :) :woohoo:

Like rmom50 mentioned, they beat you to it! ha-ha.

They usually take a couple of pictures with your cammera for you to choose from :)

Last time I went, I handed him my beloved Nikon D40 and he was telling me how much he loved it and took about 6 pictures with it, zooming in and just in general giving us a better range of pictures to choose from incase we didn't like one of them.

Oh wow really?! Okay! I always felt like .... Idk, like I was taking advantage of them! But Im totally going to now!! Thanks!

haha how do you like the Nikon D40?! I was going to start looking at te d80's I think?!???? Idk, my friend mentioned D and then some #, it was near 100.. hahahaha!! :rotfl:

I want a really good camera.. love your signature pic!

Almost every time the photopass people took our picture, I asked if they minded taking a couple with our camera also! They always took a few.

And, you know when you eat at places like Ohana & Chef Mickeys & they take your pic before you eat? I knew I didn't want to spend $30+ for their package & they don't put it on your photopass anyway, so I asked if they would also take a pic with our camera & they did. :yay: Though, at those places, they always only took just 1. (Can't blame them though-I was greatful!):flower3:

Without fail, every Photopass photographer who took our pictures when we were there asked us if we wanted him to also take some pictures with our camera. I have to say, when I compared quality, the ones taken with our camera were about as good as the ones they took with their cameras. I was a bit unsure about asking them if they would also take pix with our camera, but they offered without being asked. When we go this summer, if they don't offer I will definitely ask them to.

Someone I know just got back and said that their personal photos were so much better than the photo pass ones.

I'm not exactly sure what the photo pass is or how it works either though, lol.

I have to say that I was a bit disappointed in the overall quality of some of my photopass pictures. That being said, I still love having them taken! It's so easy & convenient.

What are they? Well, you go around the parks & you spot a photographer with his/her camera & they have a cast member name tag on. You approach them (ideally they should approach the guests) and say, "Hey, can you take our picture?" They pose you in front of whatever landmark or attraction they are near & snap a few pics of your family. That way you can all be in the picture. Then they give you a card & scan your pictures on them. You can use the same card all over.

Then either at the parks or later at your own home computer, you enter the codes from the card on the photpass website.

Voila-there are your pictures. You can order a few, share them or buy a cd with all the pictures on them.:wizard:

At the character meet spots, such as Epcot's Character Spot, or Pixie Hollow, the photopass photographers will pass your camera down the line with your card.
One tip- make sure to watch for the flash! This last trip we went low-tech, and let my kids try out disposables. Unfortunately, the last photographer in Pixie Hollow did not charge the flash, so no picture with Fawn...
You might have to do a little cropping if the photopass photographers use your camera, as theirs is zoomed in, but other than that, our pictures came out just as good! And I LOVE having pictures with my kids that I am in.

You know, when I read the question I was sure that the answer was going to be "No Way" because they want you to buy the fast pass pics. I am so glad that they will/do take pics with your own camera! It truly is the happiest place on earth!!!!!

I really like that they have the Photopass photographers at the character locations now. This was new for us since our last visit.

At the characters at least, there was always at least 2 CM there...one w/ the photopass camera and another one keeping the line moving, etc. It was usually the 2nd person that took the pics. :)

I found the Photo Pass photographer's to be very gracious to take photos with our cameras. They sometimes reached out for the camera without us asking!

So...my opinion is GO FOR IT :)

Really??? I didn't know that.... They should take more than one! LoL!

Yeah I was a bit disappointed with the quality, as well!!! I am going to ask next time we go... that was why I was asking.

Me too!!! ... I'm so surprised at the result! lol! I was going to feel so stupid if I did so I wanted to know other people were asking as well!
