After reading the fun things to do while waiting in line thread, I have a question for you fine folks!

Our family plays little games together...like "Do You Want to Buy a Duck?"...a game that usually gets us laughing. We do this while waiting for dinner at a restaurant, etc. and now I'm wondering if you all think it would be okay to ask those waiting in lines with us to play, too...Do you think it would be rude? Would you mind if we were next to you and asked you to play along?

Okay...here's how it goes...hope I can explain this well...

Person One turns to the person on their left and says: Do you want to buy a duck?
Person Two: A what?
Person One: A duck.
Person Two: Does it quack?
Person One: Of course it quacks!
Person Two turns to the person on their left and says: Do you want to buy a duck?
Person Three: A what?
Person Two turns to Person One and repeats: A what?
Person One: A duck.
Person Two turns to Person Three and says: A duck.
Person Three: Does it quack?
Person Two to Person One: Does it quack?
Person One to Person Two: Of course it quacks!
Person Two to Person Three: Of course it quacks!
Then person three turns to person four and it goes back and forth from the person being asked to Person One, adding a person each round. It's fun to play and sounds so silly as you are playing it. If it takes place in a circle, eventually you end up responding to the people on either side of you and you have to keep track of which question/response you have to pass along.

Sooo...would any of you find this annoying? Would you be put out if one of us turned to you and said, "Do you want to buy a duck?"

My kids are 5 and 7 and we played rock/paper/scissors. We played 2 at a time. Whoever scored 10 points first was the winner and got a Disney Dollar, and then they could go for double or nothing etc. My 5 year old kept winning and losing money but it really kept his mind off the line.

I probably wouldn't be annoyed, but I would give you a confused look :teeth:

I think people who are the type who keep to themselves and dont like to socialize with strangers would be annoyed. However if you got someone who is very outgoing and friendly to everyone, they would probably like it. So I guess Id say scope out the people before you ask. ;)

We plan on bringing our little "20 Questions" game with us. Very cool! You think of something...anything..... this little ball with a small screen asks you questions and almost always, can figure out what you are thinking of.
gotta love it!

My kids would like it. I would play along, but we're the type that will talk with others in line. Some people aren't so social and might be annoyed.

Go for it!

We also play a game called Fanny Dooley, and Riddly Diddly (color game).

:sunny:

I hadn't thought of bringing the "20 Questions" game! I just added it to my packing list. Thanks for the suggestion!!

I would LOVE to play! But I'm not a shy person at all!
