Question if you ever deleted Limewire...

I have used limewire but am having pangs of conscience. I would like to delete it, but have a serious question for anyone who has done so. If you delete limewire, do the songs you got from that service disappear from your computer files?
I have all my songs in my computer files (my music) and in itunes. I have always had the "share" thing disabled with limewire so I've never had songs going back out.
I'm just wondering if I need to back everything up on CD before I take this step. That would take a huge amount of time, and I want to get rid of Limewire before New Years.

I have deleted Limewire on my son's computer many times. He has me do a cleanup for spyware etc. on his computer. He never had a problem with the downloaded music.

No, they will not disappear.

I've used napster, grokster and deleted them both. Still have all the songs.
