Hopefully someone can help. I've asked this question several times on this board before, but I've never gotten an answer:

How can I get on the list to receive the postcards?

I hear many people talking about the postcards with discount codes, but how do you get a postcard sent to you? I've even heard of it referred to as a "secret club". If you have to be a DVC Member, Disney Club Member or AP Holder, fine - I can live with that and move on. But I just need to know if there's a number to call or something easy like that in order to receive the postcards. Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

I don't think that there is a list. I never got one until after I made my reservation at POR, but it seems to be fairly random. I may be wrong but if there is a list, maybe it is something like people who have made reservations in the last (whatever), because I don't belong to any of those things that you mentioned...:)

Wish I had the answer to that one as well. All I've ever heard have been speculations. I understand cro themselves say it is random. Hopefully someone else has a better answer than mine because I'd love to get my hands on one of those babies!

Not sure if this will help in answering your question. But I like you for 7 years never got a post card until the last year, which made me think! What have I done different? I have been averaging 2 visits a year for the last 7 years! However a little over a year ago when I signed up on the computer for the Disney Club Card Member thingy, and they now have my e-mail address I have been getting post cards and e-mail special prices! Could it be the reason???
Maybe someone else found this also to be true with them. Or maybe they realized that I EXIST!!!!!

Hope this helps.. Hope to see other thoughts on your question, this will be INTERESTING!!!

I've gotten a postcard for the last 4 years and I dont have a Didsney credit card or I'm not a member of Disney Club or anything else. We've gone every year for the last 5 years and only one time have I actually used the postcard that was sent to me. I thought maybe if you used the postcard they would continue to send one each year but in my case I continue to get them but hardly ever use them. I love getting them, they can be a great deal but it does not always work out with our plans for that year. Good luck, I hope you will eventually get one.

I wish I knew why. I thought I finally figured it out (and by the way, we always stayed in Allstars, and the last two postcards were for moderates..although I assuem you woudl get a discoutn no matter which you choose). On the way into the parks last two trips, I answered some questions..and they asked where we were staying (so I thought this would only work if on Dis property, since they would never find me otherwise). I thought..that's it..now we'll get one. But this one came in my hubby's name. Now he is not a member of DC, hasn't signed up on the Dis board, and the ressies are always in my name, and we use my credit card. The AMEX is mine too. So I no longer have any theory.

Wish I could figure it out, too. Last year was our first time to Disney. My parents and my brother and sister-in-law came with us too. Yesterday my parents got a postcard and I didn't. I'm a member of Disney Club and they're not.....GO FIGURE LOL

Sometimes I think they just target certain areas or states, or people who don't go every year.

We have been going to WDW each year since 1993, and have never received a postcard. I am a DC member, AP holder, Disney stock holder, AAA member, etc. (for years!), and I have never been targeted to receive a postcard! :( It gets pretty frustrating! However, some people get the postcards who go every year. Maybe it is just random, and there isn't any formula for getting on the mailing list.

I think the post cards target people who don't stay on Disney property. We stayed off property in early Feb. but made a P.S. for Boma. When we made that P.S. we were asked where we were staying and what our home address was. Two weeks later we got a post card.

I heard that they go by States and how many people in THAT state have been to WDW! I NEVER get a Postcard, because I live in a POPULAR State, and get discounts just about ALL year!;)

My sister and her family,(her, DH and DS) were at WDW at the same times we were there, October last year and February this year. We stayed at the Poly and she stayed at AS Sports in October. In Feb, we stayed at ASMu she was at CSR. She lives in NC we live in NY. She got the postcard we didn't.

The only difference between the 2 trips is that we stayed longer, at least on the first one, I can't remember the second.

So there you have your answer. Would you like me to explain any tax forms or maybe the NHL rule book?

I have received several post cards in the last few years. I have no idea why. Not a member of any current clubs. Have stayed both on and off grounds, live in Illinois. I just received the deluxe card for AKL at $129.00. I used on this past Feb. for CSP at $84.00. I just hope they keep coming as we are going in Feb. again to AKL.

My 3 year old DS got a postcard from Disney yesterday advertising the summer AKL rates. It was funny. I don't know how HE got on a postcard list! :-)

I just got my first one after more than 20 visits. The only thin I can guess is that my email is on file somehwere since I requested a video for DVC.

I never recieved a postcard with discount offeres until I bought an annual pass.

no one answers because no one knows for sure
I get them but don't know why.
Never got them before I went & stayed on property??
Everybody has a theory but no one has the answer

I was hoping for a postcard in the mail and last week when I was at my parents I recieved one under my maiden name at their address....which I haven't lived at for 5 years. Go figure :D

Thanks everyone for your honest answers. It's so funny to see that there isn't a rhyme or reason to receiving postcards. Guess I'll just cross my fingers, but won't hold my breath. :p

I'd say definatlely dont hold your breath! I'm an ap holder now and stayed on site and live in CA and I have not received one???I
even answered several polls at different parks when I was there. The way I see it is you can probably get the same rate by using a different type of discount e.g. the summer special on the Disney Site is the same as the postcard rate ( I think). Anyway I look at it as I would an upgrade, if I get it great!! If not it's still Disney and I'm still here!!!!:D :D
