Question: Hilton Head in Sept

Hey everyone here is my question; has anyone vacationed at Disney Hilton Head in Sept? Here is the problem we wanted to go in June but nothing is open, and we were gooing to go to WDW in Sept; so since we still want to to both and have to stick with these two week because the kids are getting out of school early and starting late (construction on the school) So we decided to go these weeks. So we thought last night to switch and go to WDW in June and DHH in Sept but are kinda worried about the weather (hurricans).

Since hurricane season runs from June till November, you can always worry about a possible hit during your vacation. We just always hope for the best and over four summers including late Aug. HHI vacations have never experienced a hurricane luckily. Now we've been in WDW in Oct. and early Nov. and have experienced hurricanes there. Usually it wipes a park day out, but we made the best of it with inside activities for the day.

On the bright side I would think Sept will be a great time on HHI, the weather will still be hot and great for swimming and sunning, plus the island will not be as crowded as it is during the summer!

The last hurricane of any significance to actually make landfall in SC was Hugo in 1989. Since then there have been a few tropical storms and Cat1 hurricanes that either made landfall near the SC coast or were very weakened by the time they got there.

Being a coastal state makes it susceptible to these things but I wouldn't let it affect your plans. You would have the same potential issues in Florida during this time period. Most schools start back before Labor Day so anytime after then would be an ideal time if you aren't bothered by the hot/humid weather.

We usually go in early October and the weather is perfect and we can do anything we would do during the summer - only no where near as humid. I was say September would be great as well. Warmer, but still wonderful. Hope you enjoy your trip.

Thanks everyone we decided to just go with it and we switched and did AK in early June and book 1/2 our HH now and will hopefully get the rest in Feb. Thanks again
