When researching about the cricut prior to buying it, I remember seeing some information that I cannot find now that I want to use it! (that's always the way it is for me, LOL) :rolleyes2

It was a thread (possibly on another site like 2 Peas, but I think I got the link from a DIS thread) that showed you to cut the same word out of each font cartridge and putting them together (in a book or something). You then used these cutouts to help you decide which font to use.

Does anyone understand my ramblings enough to tell what I mean and have the information? Thanks for any help or pointers you can give me!

not sure what you are looking for. i think you can cut out the letter in shadow and then cut the same letter out in just a regular letter and layer them. sorry, if that is not what you are looking for. i am just starting to play with my cricut..;)

That wasn't really what I was looking for, but I do appreciate you taking the time to try to help me. That's what I love so much about these boards -- how helpful everyone is!

I had posted the same question on the twopeasinabucket message board and someone there led me to the correct thread. If you are interested in checking it out, you can find it at

Thanks again for trying to help!

I've decided to keep a log of dial size/finished dimensions for things like envelopes, bags, and boxes. I'm going to make a page for each cartridge I have and as I make things I will note what I cut it at and how it measured when it was folded and glued together. I have an Expression so I can make some pretty big stuff, and I want to keep track of what works so that I don't have to reinvent the wheel every time I do a project.

I have a rolodex note cards thing on my scrap table and whenever I'm creating things I write the info on each card and than file it away... than if I need the info for the tag book tags for a swap, than I have the info available to me at a flip of the alphabet.. .Also, so I could get sizing right for tags, I cut all the sizes for my favorite tags and have them hanging on the wall in my scraproom... Than, when I need that little something extra and know I want it on a tag, I flip through and get the exact one I want...

:)

When I saw that thread, I did the same thing using the word Always. It's very helpful, because sometimes you need to see how the letters look together as a word rather than individually in the handbook. Which reminds me, I need to update my list with my newer carts.
