Question from disney newbie?

We are taking our first trip to Disney,three kids 8,5,and 4 staying at POR the week before Easter,(I know not a great time for first trip),I have been watching the boards for several weeks now hoping I wouldn't have to show my lack of knowledge but here goes.What are the codes everyone speaks of? I have really learned a lot thanks to everyone who contributes to boards!

Codes are kind of like coupons. You can get a code in the mail (postcard) you can get one through e-mail and if you are a passholder. Then they also sometimes have them for everyone and you can find these in the paper etc.
(also.... you can get codes for rental cars etc..... even at dept stores on line. I love codes and use them a lot.)

From time to time Disney offer special discount codes (usually a 3 letter combo) which can save you alot of money on your resort ressie. In August I saved $900 on my room. They usually offer general codes that anyone can use or AP codes that can only be used by WDW annual passholders. Code are great and that's why we are all going nuts waiting for them
