Hello!
Just wondering if someone can help by giving me some info and advise. We are thinking of going to Ohio in August 2007 for the Twinsburg Twin Festival as we are identical twins and were thinking of then travelling to WDW following the festival....however I have no idea of the distance from Ohio to Florida, how long would it take to fly? Would it be a difficult connection? Also, is early August okay to visit WDW, will it be very busy and is there usually hurricanes at that time of year? I was also wondering if there are any special things happening in August in EPCOT? We came over in 05 and did the F&W festival which was great, when does that start usually? Hope someone can give me some help! Thanks so much.

Twinsburg is a suburb of Cleveland, and Cleveland is a big city with ample flights from its airport, Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport (CLE) to Orlando International Airport (MCO).

When you go to Twinsburg, get a hotel room near CLE. It's maybe a 25 minute drive from the airport area to Twinsburg, almost all on major highway.

I've never flown from CLE to MCO but I can't imagine it's much longer than a 2 hour flight. If for whatever reason there are no flights of your liking from CLE, Pittsburgh is about a 2 hour drive east, and Columbus is about a 1.5 hour drive southwest. I don't anticipate you having any trouble getting flights of your liking from CLE to MCO.

OK, let's see how many questions I can answer...

1) Flight time from Ohio to Orlando -- I am not totally sure. I am in the Northeast and for me the flight time is about 3 hours non-stop. If I don't have an non-stop flight than you can add another 1-2 hours on to the time. I would expect that the trip from Ohio to Orlando would be a little quicker than that but it will probably depend upon when you fly there.

2) Will it be a difficult connection? I am not sure where in Ohio the Twinsboro festival is, but I expect that the connections won't be that bad. The important factor will be - is there an discount airline (like Southwest) flying out of the airport near the festival? If there is, then the flights should be fairly reasonable in price.

3) WDW in August -- It will be very hot and humid. Based upon the posts that I have seen, it can also be very crowded and yes, there is the possibility of a hurricane. The hurricane seaon runs from June until the end of October. Can someone who goes to WDW in August provide more info for the OP?

4) Any special EPCOT events in August -- I don't think so. I just looked at calendar of events at allearsnet for this August and I didn't see much. http://allearsnet.com/pl/events.htm

5) Food & Wine Festival -- This event normally starts at the very end of September and runs into the beginning of November.

Hope this helps

Twinsburg is a close suburb of Cleveland. CLE is a hub for Continental, and they usually have 3 non-stops a day from CLE to MCO. Southwest also flies about 2 or 3 non-stops a day from CLE to MCO.

I am guessing if you were to drive it, it would be maybe 13 hours. I am originally from their neighbor to the north, Michigan, and I75 is a major highway that many Michiganders use go to Florida to escape the cold winters.

I cannot imagine a flight being more than 2 hours. We are a solid 20 hour drive from Missouri and it is a three hour flight.

Cleveland is a major Airport, I don't see any problem getting a reasonable flight.
