We just purchases our DVC in December with our home resort at AK.

So if we want to go next year in December, when can I call and make reservations. The 11 month window thing is confusing to my newbie mind....LOL!

Thanks,
Michelle

The 11 month window is 11 calendar months from the date of check-in at your home resort. You could have called today to reserve a room (based on availability) at your home resort with a check-in date of 12/25/2010.

Depends on what day of December, as it has to be the 11 month mark. If you wanted to make a reservation for Dec 20, 2010, it would be 328 days from now which would fall in the 11 month window. If you call MS too early, they will tell you what day you need to call back on. Also, Dec is a busy time at WDW (although I don't know about AKV), so be sure to call early.

If you click on 'My Vacation Points' on the member website, it will tell you what dates you can call to reserve. Today it shows:
  • Currently, you may request a reservation for a Disney Cruise Line® vacation that has a sail date on or before January 25, 2012, some sailings may not be available for booking at the 24-month window.
  • Currently, you may request a reservation at your Home Resort for vacations that have a check-in date on or before December 25, 2010, based upon availability.
  • Currently, you may request a reservation at any Disney Vacation Club Resort for vacations that have a check-in date on or before August 25, 2010, based upon availability.

We are wanting to go the beginning of December so I guess I can call now then. Yeah!! Still getting used to the idea that we have DVC. We so cannot wait to use it now.

We always go first 2 weeks in dec its not busy. If you wait until last 2 weeks it becomes very busy at disney. Dont wait to book for akl it will fill up.
