Question from a DVC Beginner...

Hi there! We bought points last year at BCV thinking that would be a location we will enjoy more in the long haul when our kids are older. We stayed there for the first time last month with our 2-year-old twins. Loved the resort and pool, but the bus rides to MK made things awfully difficult. When we go next year in early December, I think we need to plan on staying at VGF or BLT. Should I plan on booking our trip at BCV at 11 months out and then get on a waitlist for one of the other locations at 7 months? Or should I just wait until 7 months out and see what's available then before making a reservation at all?

Last year, we lucked out and got into the VGF as soon as the booking window opened. Any idea when they will begin taking reservations for the Polynesian?

Early December is a popular DVC time. We usually go during F&W where the resort also fills fast. We book at the 11 month window for our home resort of BWV, and if we want to change resorts, then call at the 7 month mark and try to change. Otherwise, BCV will likely be gone and you won't get a trip into WDW, or will have to settle for whatever is left over (room size, resort).

You may have luck with the LV @ BLT @ the 7 month mark. I'm not sure how VGF is doing.

Yes, you should most certainly book your home resort for that time. Then at exactly 7 months try to switch over to another resort. If not yet available then waitlist both BLT and VGF. If neither one comes through then you will at least have a place to stay.

Better to be safe than sorry. The MK area is prime real estate and VGF is a small resort so booking there will be more difficult than at BLT.

What about VWL? It's a boat ride away to the MK.
