We booked our trip in November as part of a Grand Gathering. We have 6 days at WL with ParkHopper and Dining Plan. Can I upgrade these tickets to an AP once I arrive there??? We are moving to Florida and will buy AP's eventually I was just wondering if my current tickets can be used for credit.
Thanks in Advance.

Yes you can. Just go to Guest Relations and they will be happy to help you. If you are wanting a Florida Resident AP, you will have to have a FL DL or FL ID to get the resident rate. Otherwise, you'll get the standard AP.

Since you have the dining plan wait till the last day of your visit and then go upgrade the tickets. Just makes it easier.

I dont understand how waiting until the last day of my visit will give me any credit? Wont the tickets be used, therefore no credit is left. I am worried about upgrading messing up my dining plan. How will they handle that specific portion of it??? since others are booked on our reservation. I am so confused.

No, they will date your annual pass from the first day of your ticket use on the tickets with your plan, the full cost of those tickets will be credited to the cost of your annual pass. That way you don't mess with the dining part but still get the full value of the tickets. You have 14 days from the first use of the ticket to do this.

Thanks soooo much now I undertand. I love the DIS boards you always get great info!!!!:thumbsup2

I am going in September during the free dining period, I have 6 day park hopper tickets, can these be converted to APs, and how do I tell how much they are worth since they were purchased in a package? Since the dining is "free", do you still recommend waiting until the end of trip, or do it before entering for the first time??

To not confuse the folks at ticket services, you can do one of two things. Wait until the last day of your trip after you have used all the dining credits, then drop by a PARK ticket window and upgrade the ticket to an AP. That way there is no chance that the ticket clerk will mess up your dining credits when removing the ticket portion from the room ID.

OR

at the beginning of your trip, you can go to guest services at your resort, and have the ticket REMOVED from your resort ID. Then your ticket is separate from your dining credits. Then you can go to any PARK ticket window at any time during your trip and have the ticket upgraded to an AP.

Yes upgrade you will save, do it now.
